TEN CAINE FACTS. The Caine prize is an annual literature prize awarded to the writer of an African short story published in English. It is named after Sir Michael Harris Caine founder of the Manbooker prize who died in 1999. Earning it the nickname “African booker”. The prize was launched in 2000 and is worth 10000 pounds. The Plateau State Authors’ Group (PLASAG) invites you to send your entries of short stories for its premiere anthology titled “JOSTICE.” All entries must be prose fiction in accordance to the following guidelines: Eligible writers must be citizens of Plateau State, or born in Plateau State, or domiciled in Plateau State for a minimum of ten years. Writers must be 18 years and above. At least 70% of the setting of each entry must be on the Plateau. Each story should not be less than 3,500 words and not more than 5,000
